RC Sailing Class starting April 30 (a total of 4 consecutive Sundays)

Gorge RC Sailors will present a four part class on RC basic sailing and racing starting April 30

All welcome. This class is free. RC sailboats will be available to sail with help from owners. Children under 13 welcome with parent.

Part 1- What is RC sailing, basic terminology, types of boats, how does a sailboat work

Part 2- Points of sail, sail draft, sail trim

Part 3 Rig tuning, basic sailing rules of the road, racing rules

Part 4 Basic racing, racing strategy, racing tactics

Each class will last 30-60 minutes. Rain or shine. Participants are welcome to sail with the fleet after class.

Where- Hood River Marina at picnic table near boat launch.

This group generally shifts locations between Hood River Marina and Bingen Marina for regular Sunday sails depending on season and weather.
