Pokemon meet-up for kids
Pokemon Meet-Up — Learn to Play, learn new strategies, master the game!
Weds at 4pm (lasts 30-60 min based on attention span)
Hood River Hobbies, LLC staff will teach kids how to play the Pokemon Trading Card game (which does require some reading) with standard rules.
Do I need a deck? – No, we have basic loaner decks although feel free to bring one if you have it.
Do parents need to participate? – No, we will do all the teaching! However, a parent or guardian must stay in the shop since supervision is not provided. They may browse, sit a a separate table, or take turns with other parents as long as they have a signed waiver designating who is assigned guardian for the meet-up.
Do I need to sign up in advance? – We will accept drop ins as space allows. If you are not coming weekly, please call ahead (or email) to let us know you are coming and save your spot, and also this helps us make sure we have enough staff available to teach the game to multiple new kids.
Can I trade cards? – Yes, at the end. This meet up is about learning to play the game first. After a game or two, you may trade cards that you bring. But you and your parent are responsible to keep track of your own cards, make sure trades are fair, and there are no regrets. Staff can give you tips on how to trade fairly, but Hood River Hobbies, LLC is not responsible for unequal card trades, items left or lost.
